Can you scale your impact using Digital Communities for Social Change?
Forum Syd in partnership with RNW Media would like to invite you to a digital workshop on Creating Digital Communities for Social Change. This is more relevant now than ever!
Organisations are wondering how to mobilize communities despite limited face-to-face engagement due to Covid-19. What is a digital community, how can it support your impact and is it a viable option for your organisation? If you are pondering these questions, this is the digital workshop for you!
Target Group: CSOs who are considering digital community building as a way to scale impact – but need more information to make a good decision.
A digital community is an online space, which brings people together to engage and collaborate on shared objectives. It can support learning, reconciliation, inclusive governance, access to information and services and act as an alternative civic space.
Digital strategies and community building are gaining traction in development programming as (young) populations use their mobile phones as their main means of gathering and sharing information.
The methodology of the session
RNW Media will present an overview of what digital communities are and what they can deliver. Then we will take participants through a decision tree, to help you to decide if and how you should invest in digital communities to improve your impact.
This is a highly interactive session. This “decision tree” should be based on your organisation’s needs and theory of change (Please, have a copy of your organisation’s Theory of Change as a reference). Please note this is a beta version of our decision tree workshop, and we welcome your feedback.
Duration: 2 hours.
