Eastern Partnership Network
Forum Syd coordinates the network, which currently consists of 31 Swedish civil society organisations working with strengthening human rights, sustainable development, anti-discrimination and democracy within the Eastern Partnership (EaP) region and Russia. The Swedish Civil Society Network for Eastern Partnership Countries and Russia aims to increase the cooperation, build capacity and conduct joint advocacy towards governments and relevant EU institutions within the Eastern Partnership region. This work is mainly done through three main pillars.
- Capacity development and awareness rising, both for Swedish civil society organisations as well as for the public, through arranging seminars and conferences focused on the development in the region and how it affects the civil society.
- Participation in regional conferences, such as Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum Annual Assembly, in order to highlight the needs and interest of the civil society and have a present role in the political dialogues with decision-makers in the EU and EaP countries.
- The network also aims to build cooperation and partnership between the Swedish network members and local actors in the region.
